Here’s What You Pub Crawled For!
Today was the big day! A massive Christmas dinner was served at Ronald McDonald House – Wylie House this evening to families who have sick children at Children’s Mercy Hospital. After dinner, children got to visit with Santa and receive presents and coloring books — all funding by your donations and pub crawl participation. The pop tabs you collected before and during the pub crawl were also delivered.
All the leftover food and gifts were divided among all three houses, so that those families who were unable to attend will be able to partake and enjoy later. Any Christmas gifts that still remain after the holiday season will be unwrapped and made available to all children who reside here throughout 2016.
The most touching moment of the evening was a young girl who walked up to Santa and whispered something in his ear. Santa nodded, and she left and returned with a book and climbed up on his lap. She opened the book and began to read to him. She wasn’t interested in receiving a gift for herself, she simply wanted to read Santa a story.
